A British man died after needing medical attention on a Jet2 flight between Manchester and Ibiza.

The flight from Manchester Airport was headed to Toulouse on Saturday night due to the medical emergency.

A spokeswoman for the airline confirmed the death of this man.

A spokeswoman for Jet2.com said earlier that a flight had been hijacked due to a medical emergency, but said it was too early to confirm further details.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are in contact with the French authorities following the death of a Briton in Toulouse and we are supporting his family in this difficult time."
