The manhunt of a Pennsylvania man who threatened to "put a bullet" in the head of President Trump has finally ended, officials said Friday.
Shawn Richard Christy, 26, was shot after being tracked down a ravine just north of Highway 30 in Mansfield, Ohio, around 4:30 pm, just three hours into the search, officials said. 'a press conference.
"He was captured with a gun on him and the FBI is processing him and he is going to face further charges on this gun," said US Marshal Brian Fitzgibbon.
He did not want to confirm that the firearm was other than a pistol allegedly taken from a property in Pennsylvania.
Christy has been on the run since June 19, after threatening John M. Morganelli, the County Attorney of Northampton, Pennsylvania, and Trump in a Facebook post that has since been deleted.
"Keep up with that Morganelli, I promise you I'll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald J. Trump," Christy would have written. A federal warrant was issued for his arrest.
The Christy man hunt began on Sunday afternoon when law enforcement officials learned that he was in Ohio.
US Marshal Ann Murphy said he faces "numerous charges" and will appear for the first time in a federal court in Ohio on Monday. The marshals will then take him back to Pennsylvania to face charges.
"Dog the Bounty Hunter," whose name is Duane Chapman, said earlier this week that he would be participating in Christy's search.
But in the end, another type of dog was entitled to capture.
"It was a police dog," joked Fitzgibbon. "It was a dog that took its scent and took it away."
