The Maryland Board of Directors recommends keeping DJ Durkin, Damon Evans

BALTIMORE – The Council of Regions of the University of Maryland recommends Maryland to retain his football coach, DJ Durkin, and his athletic director, Damon Evans, following an investigation into allegations of death. abuse in the Durkin program, sources told ESPN.

Maryland President Wallace Loh is expected to announce Tuesday that he will retire in June.

Board Chair James Brady is expected to announce the recommendations and discuss the report's findings at 3:30 pm ET Press Conference in Baltimore. The regents of the USM do not have the power to dismiss Loh and discuss his employment status for several weeks. Loh should retain Durkin, on paid administrative leave since August, and Evans, whom Loh appointed sports director in July.

"The Council of Regents has insisted that the return of DJs take place, which is their number one priority," ESPN told an informed source of the situation.
