Despite regular skin checks, Renae Cleary, 38, was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and said that she was only 24 hours after death.
"I thought I was going to die just before we went and had the tumor," Ms. Cleary said.

Housed in his brain, an image of his MRI shows the two-centimeter tumor that has proven almost fatal.
"I remember having a headache and feeling uncomfortable, and then I was in the hospital for a brain tumor. It seemed so surreal." , did she say.

"I have had my skin tests, I have them done every year, I never expected her to appear," she said.
Despite hours of death, doctors still have no idea where melanoma began without obvious signs on Renae's skin.
"It scares me, it's scary, you learn to look for it, a changing mole will hurt or bleed, but sometimes it does not happen."

A combination of drugs now keeps Renae alive.
The generous crowd of foreigners funded to help buy vital drugs when its savings had been drained.
"There are no words to be honest, it saved us," she said.
Mrs. Cleary and her husband even had to sell their house.
As a result of her ordeal, Mrs. Cleary's advice is to know your body, to be aware of the changes and to have them checked.
She still has two tumors but they shrink. Yet, the robust individual is determined to continue his life regardless of the future.
