Warning: This article contains spoilers from last night's episode of Modern family.
Modern family Co-creator and host Steve Levitan reveals that season 11 is still possible for ABC's long-running sitcom. This contradicts Levitan's previous statements made last January, stating that he could not see the show going past the last year of its multi-year recovery.
In his historic run of 10 seasons, Modern family reinvigorated the sitcom format by introducing new archetypes of characters and complex storylines that seemed more evocative of shows like Arrested development that all that ABC had broadcast before. He has been nominated for countless awards and won the Emmy Award for best comedy series five years in a row, starting in his first season in 2010. Nathan Fillion, Benjamin Bratt and Jesse Eisenberg are among his prestigious stars . and the crew remained consistent despite Levitan's public break with Fox. The announcement of this season 10 would result in a major death – in addition to the fact that Season 11 production would require significant contract negotiations for all parties involved – so it seemed very likely that season 10 would be Modern family swan song.

But in an interview today with THRLevitan gives the impression that Season 11 is more likely than previously thought:
"There's obviously a lot of interest in the studio and the network, and we're all trying to figure out if that's what we want to do." There's a general desire on the part of everyone involved not to say see again, there are some obstacles to overcome, and we'll see if everything goes well. "
Levitan goes on to say that some of the hurdles to be overcome would be to ensure that most of the writers in the series can be recovered, as well as to ensure that all actors and the team are able to reach a financial agreement. And considering that the major death was a recurring character, Pritchett's mother, Deedee (Shelley Long), and not a regular series, the main actors could stay together for at least a season.
Levitan also mentions another important element to know if season 11 becomes enlightened or not. To his credit, Modern family has managed to create a fun universe, often ridiculous, that always seems rooted. This is due in no small part to the fact that, no matter what the ridiculous situation, Phil's magical hobby trains everyone in a given week, the series always comes back to questions about the human family. Some of them fit into a more traditional narrative dynamic, such as sibling rivalry and parental expectations, and others, such as adoption by LGBTQs and others. blended families, ensure that the show stays in tune with current social norms.
That said, the public has seen the Prichetts and Dunphys go through many, many permutations of dramedy as a family. Only two of the children are now children, and adults have all reached a plateau in terms of their careers, relationships and personal lives. The question of how much story remains to be told about this clan is real, and if the fans get a season 11, they will not feel forced. It should also be noted that another thing is happening Modern family Season 11 is that Disney would finally be in full control of the series. For those who do not know, Modern family is produced by Fox but is broadcast on Disney. Thanks to the Disney-Fox agreement, Modern family will become an internal production.
