Demi Lovato's mother expresses it for the first time after her daughter was treated at a Los Angeles area hospital for an alleged overdose of an opioid medication.
In an interview with Newsmax TV on Tuesday, Dianna De La Garza described the moment she heard the shocking news.
"It's always a very hard thing to say," acknowledged De La Garza. "I literally start shaking when I start to remember what happened that day."
De La Garza said that she had started receiving texts from friends and family members saying that they had heard that the singer had taken an overdose. De La Garza then received a call from Lovato's assistant who confirmed the rumors, saying that "Demi had an overdose" and was "conscious" but did not speak.

"My heart has just fallen," said De La Garza. "I was shocked … I said:" Is she okay? "She said," She's conscious, but she does And so, I knew at that time that we were in trouble. "
De La Garza and the family rushed alongside Lovato.
"She did not look very good at all," explained De La Garza. "She was in bad shape, but I told her, Half, I'm here, I love you." And at that moment, she replied, "I love you too".
On July 24, Lovato, 25, was transported by paramedics from his Hollywood residence to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, sources told ABC News at the time.
A month later, Lovato broke the silence on social media for the first time since his treatment.
"I've always been transparent about my background with addiction," Lovato wrote on Instagram. "What I learned is that this disease is not something that disappears or fades over time – it's something that I have to continue to overcome and that I do not have. still done.
"I will continue to fight," she added.

In March, Lovato appeared on "GMA", where she spoke about her fight against addiction and six years of sobriety.
