At least two people were injured Monday morning after authorities were called to a senior housing community in Long Beach, according to multiple reports.

Here are the latest information:

Update 10:07 EDT 25 June: Two firefighters who were injured Monday morning at Covenant Manor in Long Beach were shot and wounded, firefighters said.

A firefighter was in critical condition after the shooting, KNBC reported. The other firefighter suffered injuries that did not seem to threaten his life, according to the news station.

Authorities told KTLA that a civilian had also been injured.

Update 9:35 am EDT June 25th: Firefighters told KTLA that two firefighters and a civilian were injured Monday morning at a California retirement home where shots were fired on Monday morning.

The extent and cause of their injuries were not immediately known.

Update 9:20 am EDT June 25th: Long Beach police confirmed to KCBS-TV that police were responding to reports of a shootout on Monday morning at Covenant Manor, E. 4th Street.

"All I can confirm right now is that there was a shootout," the Long Beach police sergeant. Brad Johnson told KCBS-TV. "(This is not an active shooter situation." The investigation is ongoing. "

Updated at 8:55 am EDT June 25: Authorities continued on Monday morning to search the nursing home, identified by KCBS-TV as Covenant Manor.

The news reported that the authorities had been called just after 4am following an explosion and a shootout at the building, but the authorities did not immediately confirm the report.

Two people told KTLA that they had heard gunshots in the area on Monday morning.

Updated at 8:05 am EDT June 25: Mike Rogers, producer of KCBS-TV, an active shooter and a third fire alarm were reported early Monday in Long Beach.

Alberto Mendez from KTLA reported that the incident occurred "in a retirement home near the 4th and Atlantic zone."

"The suspect is still in the building" he added.

A woman told KTLA that she had heard gunshots.
