Asdrubal Cabrera changes team in the National League East, the New York Mets having traded the former infielder against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Mets received minor league pitcher Franklyn Kilome in the trade

in sale mode prior to Tuesday's no-waiver deadline. At 43-57, the Mets are 14 games behind the Phillies from first place in East North Carolina.

Cabrera, 32, has mostly played second base this season for the Mets, but he has greatly benefited Shortstop and third base during his 11-year career in the major leagues.

He was one of the only positives from the Mets in attack this year, leading the team batting average (.277), in home runs (18). (104) and RBIs (58).

His offensive adjustment should be good in Philadelphia. In 24 career matches at Citizens Bank Park, he has recorded at least one extra-base success in 12 of them, and his 1,053 OPS are the highest of any playing field.

Friday, Philadelphia promoted the 25-year-old prospect Quinn Roman from Triple A.

The Mets, meanwhile, signed veteran fielder Austin Jackson and appointed Matt den Dekker for the posting.
