The November storm could turn into a tropical depression

The Carolinas have had a cold weekend and many people on the East Coast are already preparing their Thanksgiving menus for next week, but that does not mean the hurricane season is over.

The 2018 Atlantic hurricane season does not end until November 30, and there is another available system that, according to forecasters at the National Hurricane Center, could turn into a tropical depression or storm in the coming days.

Hurricane Center forecasters on Monday morning called the system a "vigorous tropical wave", which has a 50% chance of becoming a named storm by Wednesday and a 90% chance over the next five days.

"The showers and thunderstorms have increased and are a little more concentrated this morning, and the environmental conditions should gradually become more conducive to the development of a tropical depression or a tropical storm the next day or so" explained the hurricane center.
