Despite the expectation that Leveon Bell reports to Pittsburgh this week, the Steelers have not heard of the half-offensive and still do not know when he will return, sources told ESPN.
Some sources around the league think that because Bell does not want to be traded, he will wait for the NFL transaction deadline to return to work on October 30th.
The Steelers could trade Bell only if he had signed his franchise agreement, and if he waited to sign it after the deadline, Pittsburgh could not sell it.
The Steelers do not plan to trade Bell, but have not completely dismissed the idea either, because of the aggressiveness with which another team could pursue Bell.
Until now, Bell's commercial interest has been limited due to the circumstances surrounding its situation, according to sources. Bell told ESPN that he planned to play this season, and a source told ESPN earlier this month that the star running back should report back in week 7 to 8.
