In an exclusive cat, Venom Producer Avi Arad reveals his regret about the appearance of the character in Spider-Man 3. Venom has been a favorite character of fans since his first appearance in The amazing spider-man comics, and they looked forward to his first live-action appearance. Unfortunately, the director Sam Raimi was not a big admirer of Venom and did not really understand the attraction of the character.
This naturally created a problem when Raimi was essentially forced to include Venom as an antagonist. Spider-Man 3. In the movie, the symbiote first attaches to Peter Parker and attacks his darkest impulses, until Peter finally rips him off and s'. attaches to his rival Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) instead. Raimi's lack of passion for the character is obvious Spider-Man 3, and it makes for a disappointing villain in the pinnacle. The disappointment of the fans in the character was so noisy that a planned spin-off was quickly canceled.

In the following years Spider-Man 3 The release, Raimi was about the flaws of the film and how he felt he was the wrong person to tackle Venom. With a new take Venom starring Tom Hardy for an outing next week, producer Avi Arad opened to Rant screen about what he had learned from the previous appearance of the character and why he was wrong to insist that Venom be included.
Screen Rant: Avi, you participated in an earlier incarnation of Venom. What did you learn from this venom that you wanted to avoid or add to this version of Venom?
Avi Arad: I think we learned that Venom is not a role play. In all fairness, I will take guilt because of what Sam Raimi used to say in all those interviews feeling guilty for having forced him to do so. And you know what I learned? Do not force anyone to anything. Therefore, (Sam) was not interested in the interior to make Venom look like us? How do we manage venom and Marvel is a metaphor?
Venom was really a secondary character in Spider-Man 3, and although the symbiote costume is an interesting way to explore Peter's dark side, much of the execution was a little awkward. That did not help Spider-Man 3 already felt overloaded with characters and subplots and that Sam Raimi was clearly more interested in focusing on Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) as the main villain.
Venom had a bit of a way back to the big screen in the years that followed. Following the cancellation of the verse Raimi Venom spinoff – which was written by dead Pool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – the character had to appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, followed by a solo film. Channing Tatum has expressed interest in playing this role, but the subsequent cancellation of this series has once again thrown Venom into limbo.
Venom finally puts the character in front and center, but after being presented as an uncompromised version of the iconic character, it seems that Sony has compromised its original version. The film is now confirmed as PG-13, an initiative designed to encourage future crossover opportunities with the Marvel film universe. While the film must be a hit, time will tell how the audience adopts this diluted version of the character.
