Queen Elizabeth II holds her title for 66 years, making her the oldest reigning monarch in British history.
And it was a busy year for his major.
She turned 92 in April and hosted her seventh great-grandchild.
She has also attended hundreds of public events and has been operating urgently.
Last month, the bookmakers offered to the probabilities that the queen separates from the throne to give way to her eldest son, Prince Charles.

But a royal insider claimed that the queen was keen to "ride the wave" of popularity that younger members of the family brought to the monarchy – including Prince Harry's new wife, Meghan Markle.
Sending to the Yahoo series, Nick Bullen, editor and co-founder and award-winning documentary filmmaker of the Royal True TV TV channel, explained that his years of collaboration and observation with the family royal had been respected.
After producing countless programs on the Royal Family, including the 2015 television documentary Ant and Dec with Prince Charles, Nick firmly believes that "abdication will never happen" – and not just because of his incredible sense of duty.
"I think the queen sees what these boys and their wives bring, and I wonder if she even presents it to the great grandchildren," he said.
Nick said that Prince Charles was more than ready to become king, but he thinks the king could easily turn 80 when it happens.

He added, "His mother lived up to 101 years old. The queen is here for the long term … she could live at least another 10 years.
"She saw everything, she did everything, she is the mother and the woman who works and therefore, and I do not think she'll go anywhere, so soon."
Relatives of the monarch, however, say that she would never consider giving up the throne.
Instead, at age 92, the Queen gradually reduces her royal duties and allows her successors to speed up their work.
She has already left the position of patron of 25 charities and stopped traveling for tours abroad.

And although her husband, Prince Philip, retired in 2017, Her Majesty continues to make hundreds of appearances each year.
Even before becoming queen in 1952 at the age of 25, she had revealed her intention to spend her life serving the Commonwealth.
In a speech made on the occasion of her 21st birthday, she declared: "I declare before you that all my life, whether long or short, will be devoted to your service and to the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong. "
She repeated similar sentiments after her coronation in 1953, stating: "All my life and with all my heart, I will strive to be worthy of your trust."
In addition to these public references to serve all her life, it is thought that the abdication of her own uncle has cast a spot so dark on the family that she would never have envisioned it.

His uncle, Edward VIII, had abdicated in 1936 to marry the American divorced Wallis Simpson, making his brother, the father of the queen, King George VI.
If she were to leave her post, the queen would follow Juan Carlos from Spain, who had abdicated in June 2014, as well as the last three queens of the Netherlands, who all moved away in their sixties.
Last year, palace sources said plans were underway that, if they were implemented, would see Charles named King, except his name.
The Queen told her entourage that if she is still on the throne at the age of 95, she will apply for the coming into force of a bill called the Regency Act – granting to his eldest son the full power to reign even lives forever.
In 2017, Charles was named the Queen's successor at the head of the Commonwealth, and in recent years she has increasingly turned bosses and royal duties over to younger members of her family.
