The recap of the voice: season 15, episode 2

The shoes stand out already! Jennifer Hudson saved her time tonight as she and Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton tried to win in the next round of competition – which means things start to be competitive.

Let's take a look at who will be competing for the title of season 15, are we going?

Keith Paluso (30 – Memphis, TN)
"Way Down We Go" by Kaleo

The selection of titles of this guy could not be more precise because all the song was spent to see how much we can accompanies the bluesy grumbling voice of Keith Paluso. This park fan and bird fan has all the ingredients for a strong member of the Adam Levine team – he is attached to his ax, ready to take rough notes and has a general feeling of being on the road. Self-possession – but thanks to the timely blocking of Blake Shelton's use, the outdoorsman is ripped off by The Cowboy. The good news for Keith is that he seems to be able to navigate through several genres, from blues to country to rock and roll, which should allow him to work with his coach. A lack of versatility has been the fall of some singers of his style in the past, so watch this guy change it often enough to keep it interesting while keeping that low register that Blake likes so well.

Claire DeJean (17 – Dallas, TX)
"Hurt Somebody" by Julia Michaels and Noah Kahan

Oh, hello Claire DeJean! This young singer – who spends her free time teaching dance and playing children because of course That's what she does – to one of those sweet, strange, upper registers that are so hard to resist, with a full, fat voice in which she slips easily. It takes a tender final note to convince Kelly Clarkson to turn to her, but when she does, the girl is so pleased that she crying (and it is clear that Blake Shelton has no chance fact turn first). Count on this girl to take the sweet pop road in the very near future.

West Franc (38 – Atlanta, GA)
"(Sittin 'On) the Bay Wharf" by Otis Redding

The fact that Franc-West only gets one chair ride tonight says nothing about the huge impact of his voice. With his singer experience in the US Navy, he has exceptionally deep bass that has enough texture and resonance to be undeniable. If he could focus on some of these higher notes and make his transitions between the octaves a little cleaner, he could just be a competitor. For the moment, however, his urgency and obvious instincts are strong enough to give him a coveted spot in Team JHud, and with his guidance, he can turn that raw talent into a real skill (provided that he chooses a less generic song next time, of course).

Michael Lee (30 – Fort Worth, TX)
"The Thrill Is Gone" by BB King

Had Adam Levine had a bad night before that, Michael Lee just kicked him in the shins and then slapped him with a six-string for good measure. He is basically able to make his electric guitar a backup singer here, which means that he speaks Adam's language from the very first words, and that his bluesy rocker style is also obvious. Somehow, however, he decides to send his gravel tones to the Blake Shelton team for the time being, though Adam is the most obvious choice and the fact that Jennifer Hudson offered him the ultimate compliment by launching the first shoe of the season in his direction. Considering how blues is married to country music, Michael Lee should still adapt to Team Blake.

Ele Ivoire (20 – Nashville, TN)
"Jump" by Julia Michaels

This may be a first: the daytime business of Ele Ivory works in a cave, which means that she probably has access to some acoustics when she practices her voice after shifts. And what voice is that … or could be. Her sweet melody is adorable when she hits the right notes, but there is a throbbing quality a little hard to forget in the spots. His tendency to miss his mid-range, which is much less soothing than his main voice, makes this performance a little too inconsistent for coaches. The good news for her is that Adam Levine insists so much that she works on things and comes back have a chance to return.

DeAndre Nico (22 – Port Arthur, TX)
"When I was your man" by Bruno Mars

Just like last night, our last auditor of the evening has the distinction of winning a four-seater tour with coaches. DeAndre Nico, who has had a difficult year thanks to the devastation of Hurricane Harvey at home, has a rich and flexible mid-range and impressive high notes. There are times when he seems a little late on the tempo, but the emotion of his delivery is undeniable, and everyone tries to train him to the next level. In a way, Adam Levine is able to attract him because he's turned first, which means he obviously cares the most, right? It may be actually an inspired choice on his part, because if anyone knows how to choose songs that can showcase his high notes, well, that's the guy who's does every day of his professional life.
