The remains of Florence will soak in the northeast

Numerous flash flood monitoring stations were launched in the north-east of the country on Tuesday as the remains of Hurricane Florence pour into the region.

Flood watches extend from Virginia to Massachusetts on Tuesday morning, including Washington, DC; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Albany, New York; Hartford, Connecticut; and Boston.

At 7 am, the remains of Florence will continue to cross Pennsylvania and southern New York and northern New Jsersy with heavy rains to the north in the Hudson Valley and in parts of the New England.

A cold front will begin pushing the remains of Florence to the coast Tuesday afternoon with heavy rains expected along the I-95 corridor from Philadelphia to New York and Boston. Some flash floods are possible.

The cold front pushes all the rain on the coast and the north-east begins to dry out Tuesday night.

Additional precipitation will be highest in New Jersey and parts of New England, where it may rain an additional 1 to 3 inches.
