The storm containing the remains of Hurricane Florence caused a flood of rains in Massachusetts Tuesday, which caused floods and road closures in many parts of the state.

A flash flood warning (different from flash flood monitoring) is in effect for Norfolk County and parts of Worcester, Suffolk, Middlesex, Plymouth and Bristol counties until 3:15 pm, the meteorological service said.

Local police said several Norwood roads were impassable due to flooding, and road closures were also reported on Montvale Avenue, Oak Street, Franklin Street and Stoneham Summer Street.

"A warm front will lift north on Thursday night, with southerly winds bringing warm temperatures Friday," forecasters said. "A cold front will sweep the region Friday night, with conditions mostly dry but cool for the weekend ahead."

As for the weekend, Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a maximum close to 70, and Sunday will be cooler, with a peak close to 66, according to forecasters.
