The revolt of Gretchen Carlson raises

Miss America now only represents 46 of the 50 US states. Go ahead and take a minute to squeeze your pearls while humming "America the Beautiful".

The Miss America organization is purging its vengeance by revoking the licenses of four groups of states and threatening 15 others to put it on probation for doing the most American thing possible – by launching a revolution against the rulers tyrannical.

The states have "revolted" against the leaders of the Miss America Organization, currently headed by former host of Fox News (and former Miss America), Gretchen Carlson. According to the Associated Press, state officials fear a lack of transparency and communication from the leaders of the national organization. In the midst of calls for Carlson and his CEO, Regina Hopper, to withdraw, the Miss America organization's attack on dissent, says the AP.

The states whose licenses were revoked include Georgia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well as a fourth state that has not yet been named, according to the AP. The four states will no longer be affiliated with Miss America Organization and will have to transfer their bank account with the organization's bursary money as soon as possible. Once they find new leaders, they can request an appeal hearing from the Miss America Executive Committee.

A GoFundMe account called the Miss America Organization Leadership Change Fund was created to help states defend themselves against these accusations. It has raised more than 22,000 dollars so far.

The apparent intimidation tactics should not surprise anyone who read the open letter of former Miss America Cara Mund in which she claimed that Carlson had intimidated her, a statement backed by Miss America winners Suzette Charles and Heather Whitestone. They called for Carlson's resignation, but did not demand that she also give him his crown and belt.
