The Rockets beat the Grizzlies in the NBA prep game in Birmingham

Houston guard Chris Paul led the Rockets with 22 points and nine assists, and MVP candidate James Harden added 20 points and six assists to lead the Rockets to a 131-115 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at from a NBA preparatory game tonight at Birmingham's Legacy Arena.

It was the first preparatory game for both teams.

Carmelo Anthony had 13 points and four rebounds in the first game in the Rockets uniform. Four other Rockets recorded double-digit numbers, led by Michael Carter-Williams's 19 points.

Rookie Jaren Jackson scored 15 points, three rebounds and three assists. Veteran guard Mike Conley had 16 points. While JaMychal Green, a notable former Alabama player, started with the power forward and contributed nine points and eight rebounds.
