A man who had a runny nose for five years discovered that his apparently innocuous symptoms were much more serious.
Greg Phillpotts, from the US state of North Carolina, explained how the drops of liquid flowing from his nose had become a common phenomenon in his daily life, including last year's Thanksgiving.

Mr. Phillpotts thought that he was constantly dealing with allergies while some doctors had even diagnosed him with pneumonia and bronchitis.

Yet it was not until a visit to a doctor in New York that he learned the true extent of his illness.
