The Sasquatch Festival will not be coming back in 2019

The music festival that drew thousands of visitors to the picturesque Central Washington Gorge Amphitheater came to an end

. The founder of the Sasquatch Music Festival, Adam Zacks, says that after 17 years he will no longer produce an outdoor party and it will not take place in 2019.

Zacks wrote in a statement on Thursday that "today we bow and say goodbye to Sasquatch."

The festival takes place on Memorial Day weekend in George, Washington, started as a one day event in 2002. Over the years, it has sold more than a million tickets and saw more than 1300 groups including Beastie Boys, Arcade Fire, The Cure, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar
