Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy
If you're interested in a fun story, look no further than the potential return of running back LeSean McCoy to the Philadelphia Eagles. In this season that has been brutally frustrating for the fantastic football owners regarding McCoy, there is no doubt that an exchange could be great news.
As Josh Reed from WTVB revealed, the Eagles called the Buffalo Bills about a potential tradeoff after the team lost running half Jay Ajayi due to a torn ACL.
McCoy just does not get things moving this year. Even in his best game (last week), he had only 85 yards in 24 runs (3.5 yards per attempt) and two assists. This is largely due to the fact that the attack on the Bills is just bad this year. Although rookie quarterback Josh Allen has benefited, it has always been difficult to toboggan.
So, for the fantasy owners who hold McCoy and hope he can have fun, the best chance of that happening may be with an agreement that sends him back to where his career began.
Fantasy value of LeSean McCoy if traded to the Eagles
There is certainly no guarantee that this trade will occur, but the bills may choose to rebuild some of their capacity by transferring McCoy and the rest of his contract. The 30-year-old has a full season after 2018 on a $ 40 million contract that he signed for five years, by Spotrac.
But unfortunately, landing at the McCoys with the Eagles does not instantly make him a fantastic stud. Things are a bit different in Philadelphia compared to the last time. Ajayi was supposed to be the team's workhorse, but his workload was a bit scattered in the first three games of his career (with the exception of the third week, due to injury) .
Ajayi has not seen more than 15 races in a game this season, even though he posted solid numbers. Even though McCoy may get a constant 12-14 key number if it is traded, the potential concern could result from the way Doug Pederson distributes the snapshots.
Although Ajayi had some bumps and bruises and missed a few opportunities in the first few weeks, Pederson's lack of commitment to a runner was frustrating. During Week 1, Ajayi found the end zone twice, but received only 40% of the offensive take, the same number as Darren Sproles, by Football Outsiders. The Eagles coach now seems determined to involve Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement.
How to approach the possible trade LeSean McCoy
McCoy certainly has some benefits for fantasy football players if they do, but we do not know how much we expect. His prospects with the Eagles would be better than the ones he is currently facing in Buffalo, so if you are able to trade an exchange against McCoy without breaking the bank, that's not a bad idea.
Chances are, at this point, the McCoy owner of your fantasy league has found a replacement for him. So, if he's just sitting on a bench somewhere and that team needs a wide receiver or a deep position, give a player who took a chance. Most fantasy owners are currently frustrated by McCoy, so it makes sense to try to take advantage of that.
