All westbound lanes of I-96 on Farmington Road, Livonia, are closed following a morning shootings involving an officer, Report of Local 4 (WDIV).

Around 4 am, Michigan State Police arrived in the area for a family dispute. The situation evolved into a police chase on I-96 heading east before returning on westbound lanes.

Near Levan Road, a soldier reportedly fired at a suspect involved in the lawsuit, but his health condition is not known. Calls to the MSP were not immediately answered.

Michigan Department of Transportation tweeted that the lanes were still closed from Farmington Road to Newburgh Road at 8 o'clock and that there was no estimated reopening time.
