The Simpsons are apparently getting rid of Apu as a result of Backlash

The simpsons is currently broadcasting its thirtieth season on Fox. As one would expect, not all the stories and characters discussed in the last three decades have been picked up by fans, and there has not been a similar reaction to the one surrounding Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. The news comes from the producer Adi Shankar, who, you may remember, launched a contest in May to allow someone to write an episode that corrects aspects of the characterization of his work.
