The star of "How I met your mother", Josh Radnor, joins "Gray's Anatomy"

If things go well for Josh Radnor in his last role, he will have a character able to tell a new set of children how he met their mother.

The actor will feature in "Gray's Anatomy" as a potential love interest for Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) in the Thursday night episode, confirmed today TODAY. According to The Hollywood Reporter, how many episodes of the Radnor drama will air long ago?

The 44-year-old heartwarming character may well be the cure for the decidedly unhealthy love life of Dr. Gray since a deadly car accident has caused the love of his life – his husband, Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka McDreamy famous played by Patrick Dempsey.

But this terrible chance may well change thanks to a blind meeting with the mysterious eligible single Radnor.

This is clearly a long time ago, a movie for a little comedy in a clip broadcast to People before the episode. "What happened? Do you go to a funeral?" Says Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), Gray's sister-in-law, after spying Meredith in a beige trench coat before the date of the appointment yourself to the blind.

Radnor, of course, is best known for his role in Ted Mosby, better known as "me" in "How I met your mother" in the hit sitcom that took place from 2005 to 2014. Ironically, he also obtained a fictional license to practice medicine, in the short-lived drama of PBS's Civil War, "Mercy Street".

More recently, the actor born in Ohio was seen in NBC musical high school musical drama, "Rise".

Radnor's debut on "Gray's Anatomy" will air on Thursday at 8pm. AND on ABC.
