The "Last Man Standing" star, Tim Allen, says he's not really a Trump supporter.

As Tim Allen prepares to make his "Last Man Standing" Season 7 debut on his new network, questions about his personal politics are at the center of the game. In a recent interview, the star clarified her position on President Trump after months of vague political questions.
Confiding in Entertainment Weekly, Allen was quizzed on his political views after previously stating that his conservative values were the reason for public criticism of him and ABC's decision to cancel "Last Man Standing" despite high marks.
"Politically, I'm a little anarchist if you see my stand-up. I am a responsible government that really does what we pay them, "said the 65-year-old star. "I have had different jobs and I had a colorful past and I pay a lot of taxes. I wish we had more for our money. Whatever the political party is for more responsible use of our money, that's all I wanted to say. "
Although he has never officially approved Donald Trump, many of Allen's critics consider him a strong advocate. However, the star also clarified her more nuanced view of politics vis-à-vis the president.
"You know … it's a very busy question. I have made the acquaintance [Trump] at [a] charity event years ago, and this certainly does not fit the man who tweets. I've met a lot of people in private whose public character is a little off the wall. My perception is that "let's see what he does. Let's stop banging at the pilot's door and try to pull the guy out of his seat while he's still flying. You may not like how he pilots the plane, but let him land, "Allen said at the exit. "Do I like him or agree with him? … I do not know. Someone did this business with NAFTA. How did it happen? It's like a light helping hand with this guy. There is smoke and smelly food but here it has just repaired a pothole.
Allen went on to point out that despite the politicization of a show like "Last Man Standing" in the post-Roseanne television climate, those watching Season 7 on Fox will not be watching a program on politics. Instead, he said, it's a show about a family with a conservative father who deals with family issues.
"Last Man Standing" will be presented on September 28 on Fox.
