MISSOULA – The state of Montana forced and recovered a fumble on the 1-yard line in the final seconds to seal a win in which he overcame a 22-point deficit against Montana, 29-25, Saturday, at the Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
This is the first series of three consecutive victories in the wild fight for cats since 1983-1985.
Montana State quarterback Troy Andersen had three touchdowns, 107 yards on 22 carries. Logan Jones added a touchdown to give the Cats their first lead, 29-25, in the fourth quarter.
Montana quarterback Dalton Sneed finished with 22 assists in 34 attempts for a total of 354 yards with two touchdowns. Adam Eastwood ran 10 times for 23 yards, but he missed the line at 1 yard with 10 seconds to go.
The Griz scored in the first match of the match when Gabe Sulser snapped a pass from Sneed for a pass on the fly.
