Vicky Cornell was perhaps the closest member of Chris' musical and personal family to speak at the unveiling of the statue. The Cornell children chose to simply remove the curtain from the statue, while the Soundgarden members discreetly offered fists and horns of the devil to the delirious crowd.
Vicky's speech ended with a sigh, followed by a serious call to the crowd: "Thank you for embracing and loving Chris so deeply." Thanks to Seattle for the support and the # 39; strongest love ever. " The unveiling was followed by a cumbersome one hour projection of a Soundgarden 2013 concert inside the aptly named MoPOP Sky Church, where fans could scribble their memories and thoughts. in a series of gold books filled quickly.
During this screening, MoPOP revealed an additional addition to Cornell in his collection: a Chris Cornell outfit on tour, complemented by a leather jacket and handwritten lyrics from two of Soundgarden's classics.
