DENVER – A strong cold front arrived in Colorado on Saturday, resulting in strong gusts of wind, a significant drop in temperatures and periods of snow. Saturday is a pinpoint weather warning day in Colorado.
A Strong wind warning is in effect for I-25 corridor and the Eastern Plains until 2 am Sunday, wind gusts of up to 65 miles per hour will be possible. This will make travel difficult, especially along I-25, I-70 and I-76.
A Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Forecast continues for the mountains until 5 pm Sunday. Heavy snowfall and strong winds will make traveling extremely difficult, with additional accumulation up to 14 ".
There will be a risk of rain / snow showers for the Front Range, but a slight build-up of less than 2 "is expected.The main concern in Denver and across the Front Range will be the strong gusts of evening wind .
Strong winds and light showers will be possible during the night as temperatures drop in the 20's to start the day on Sunday. Sunday will offer more sun, but cooler temperatures, with peaks in the 40s. A persistent breeze will also persist at the front of the battlefield, which will make the match Broncos chilly.
