The sudden death of Kim Porter remains a mystery even after the autopsy

Sarah Ardalani, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Law Coroner, announced Monday that an autopsy had been performed on Friday.

"The cause of death has been deferred pending further testing," Ardalani said in an e-mail addressed to the United States today. She added that Porter's body had been handed over to his family.

The 47-year-old model and actress was found unresponsive Thursday in her home in the San Fernando Valley region. She was pronounced dead at home, according to the coroner.

At the time, the Los Angeles Police Department had stated that no criminal act was suspected.

A final conclusion about why a relatively young woman would suddenly die may take weeks to answer.

Diddy, born Sean Combs and Porter were no longer a couple, but they were still close and shared three children: his 20-year-old son Christian and his twins D & Lila Star and Jessie James, who will have 12 years old next month. They also raised Quincy Brown, 27, Porter's son, with singer and record producer Al B. Sure.

Combs was devastated by his death, pronouncing for the first time Sunday calling his days a "nightmare".

"The last three days, I was trying to get out of this nightmare, but that's not the case," he wrote on Instagram. "I do not know what I'm going to do without you, baby, I miss you so much."
