Now, more than a year later, the BC Coroners Service has confirmed a strain of Staphylococcus aureus on a tampon, as well as Other symptoms compatible with TSS have been discovered, reported CTV News. TSS is a dangerous, sometimes fatal disease caused by bacterial toxins. It is primarily related to menstruating women who use super absorbent tampons, but the infection can affect people of any age, including men, children, and postmenopausal women.
"We know that there is an association," said Dee Hoyano, Medical Health Officer of Island Health, at CTV Vancouver Island. "Certainly, we know that a person must have this particular bacteria to get sick, and then there may be something with the use of tampons, perhaps a prolonged use of buffer, which increases the risk of developing a more widespread infection. MAN WITNESSES WEDDING DAY OF GIRL BEFORE CANCER DEATH
"After 9 agonizing months we finally got confirmation that my sister of rubbish has died of Toxic Shock Syndrome or (TSS) .Women need to be more educated on this topic, some of you do not even know the TSS, "she wrote. They say that getting TSS is incredibly rare, but I know two people who have had it, with a person who barely survived and my sister who died of it. Can it really be so rare? My sister was complaining of stomach cramps before going to bed and then she never woke up. "
She said that her sister was in good health and that others had to learn to use a buffer safely, this and that must be brought to light," she posted. "Such a useless and tragic thing to happen to such an amazing girl.I would not want this to happen to anyone else and if this post even makes a person conscious and go get and inquire about TSS then I am grateful.
