Conor McGregor's coach has strongly denied allegations that Dillon Danis started the fight after the fight in Las Vegas by calling Khabib Nurmagomedov a "f-king Muslim rat".
A source close to the ring told TMZ that Danis, McGregor's teammate, had shouted the religious blow between the second and third rounds of UFC 229.
Nurmagomedov reportedly heard about the alleged insult that would have pushed him to throw his mouthpiece on Danis, to jump out of the cage and attack him.
But McGregor coach John Kavanagh denied the claim, saying, "In fact, he did not say anything. Now I was standing next to Dillon, I did not see what he did, but I heard. So, he did not say anything. As chaos reigned outside the octagon, McGregor and three members of Nurmagomedov's team stayed away, images that seemed to show McGregor throwing the first punch.
Las Vegas police said that no arrests had been made as a result of the fight.
Nurmagomedov, 30, is excused for his part in the fray but claimed that it had been provoked after McGregor, also aged 30, made inflammatory comments about his religion.

On September 20, Danis, who is fighting at Bellator, tweeted, "Rats everywhere."
And after being mocked by UFC star Rafael dos Anjos, he wrote, "Let the fight go to the other, let us come together to confront you and fight you, little by little, you do not do not give every fight to your heart.

Nurmagomedov forced McGregor to participate in the fourth round with an expert crank.
Kavanagh hopes that Nurmagomedov will have no serious repercussions after his role in the ugly scenes after the fight.
