Johnny Manziel's stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats lasted just five games and counted zero starts. And on Sunday, the former Heisman Trophy winner and first-round pick of the 2014 Browns were traded to the Montreal Alouettes.
In case you're wondering, here are the terms of the deal: Hamilton has acquired defensive end Jamaal Westerman, receiver Chris Williams and two first-round picks (2020, 2021). Alouettes in exchange for Manziel, offensive lineman Tony Washington and offensive lineman Landon Rice.
Manziel, 25, was added before the season but failed to overthrow Jeremiah Masoli. Lack of playing time was not considered a huge problem; The Tiger-Cats coach, June Jones, said last month that Manziel should be in the NFL, where he played for the last time in December 2015.
