The trailer of the curse of La Llorona contains 2 minutes of pure terror

io9 took a look at The curse of La Llorona in San Diego Comic-Con – and now everyone can join us in our excited (still petrified) anticipation with the arrival of the first trailer of the film. The film is by Michael Chaves, the first feature film director, who has just been hired for a short film titled Summoning 3.

As the title indicates, The curse of La Llorona uses the horrible legend of the "weeping woman" of Mexican folklore, which the press release of the film explains as follows:

Llorona. The woman crying. A horrifying apparition, wedged between heaven and hell, trapped by a terrible fate sealed with his own hand. The mere mention of his name has terrorized the entire world for generations. In life, she drowned her children in a jealous rage by throwing herself into the river after having cried in pain. Now, her tears are eternal. They are mortal and those who hear the call of his death in the night are doomed. The Llorona crawls in the shadows and attacks the children, ready to do anything to replace his. Over the centuries, his desire has become more voracious … and his methods more terrifying.

Did we mention that this movie is produced by James "Welcome to my Conjuring multiverse, now you will never sleep again "Wan? As you can see in the trailer below, The curse of La Llorona takes place in the 1970s in Los Angeles and brings together Linda Cardellini and Patricia Velasquez (as well as Raymond Cruz, Marisol Ramirez, Sean Patrick Thomas, Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen and Roman Christou). Cardellini plays a social worker and a single mother whose last case ends in tragedy; it also presents it to a hidden monster that is really not "just a folk tale". As you will see soon.

It's really more a clip than a teaser, which works pretty well considering the terrifying tension of this scene. Children, when mom says to stay in the car … everything is better stay in the car!
