The trailer of "The Lego Movie 2" mocks Chris Pratt's most iconic characters – VIDEO

It's been a few years since the first movie inspired by Legos came out, and with the new The movie Lego 2 trailer just released, it is now clear how dark these years have been for our dear Lego friends. In the new trailer, all the main characters are back from the first movie and face another nasty villain. In other words, everything is more awesome.

The first Lego Movie 2 The trailer, which debuted on Nov. 20, shows Lucy (Elizabeth Banks) with a bewildering mood, now that Bricksburg is a wasteland and arid, very different from the multicolored metropolis of the first film (and much more evocative of Mad Max: Fury Road). But Emmet (Chris Pratt)? He is still the shredder, kind, a kind of construction worker obtuse of the first film. His behavior has not changed with the darkness and makes him even more hilarious.

If you remember, at the end of the last film, the Duplo invaders came to wreak havoc in the city of Lego and destroyed them. This time, in The movie Lego 2, they caused some Armageddon and have their seat in the Sis-Star system. As fans of the original movie will remember, the Duplos come from Finn's sister, who was recently allowed to play with their father's Lego set. It is therefore logical that his sister (Sis-Star) plays an even more important role in this film.

One of the highlights of the trailer is probably the introduction of a new character called Rex Dangervest (also voiced by Pratt). When Lucy gets kidnapped by General Sweet Mayhem (Stephanie Beatriz), Emmet goes to his rescue and Rex prepares to save his life. In his introduction, he boasts of being a coach of archaeologists, cowboys, raptors and advocates of galaxies.

Sounds familiar? Well, each of these identifiers is a reference to a character Pratt has already played. Galaxy's defender is Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill, from the Marvel Film Universe; the cowboy is Joshua Faraday of The Magnificent Seven; and the raptor blocker is Owen Grady Jurassic World. As for the archaeologist, well, this could be a nod to all the rumors that Pratt would be the new Indiana Jones. The fact that Emmet says "I do not understand" makes the moment all the more hilarious.

To make the moment even more meta, you can spot Emmet "quarreling" with his own raptor, almost better than Rex can (or at least better than expected). While explaining that Emmet's friends are being held in the Sis-Star system, belonging to an alien queen, Rex boasts that "only the most difficult ones will come out alive," Emmet turned his raptor in a happy puppy. Emmet is really "The Special" after all.

The trailer features new characters like Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, the aforementioned extraterrestrial queen Rex. It is expressed by Tiffany Haddish, who will certainly add to the comic reputation of the franchise. The movie Lego 2 Also brings Will Arnett in Batman, Nick Offerman in MetalBeard and Alison Brie in Princess Unikitty and his new alter ego, Ultrakatty, in which she can transform herself in the face of extreme anger. The trailer also shows the return of other characters from DC Comic, which hopefully means the return of Channing Tatum as Superman and Jonah Hill as Green Lantern. The Hollywood journalist also announced that Margot Robbie would resume her role as Harley Quinn, in Lego form this time.

It's safe to say that The movie Lego 2 has the potential to be as successful as the first movie, and if they offer a theme song as well as "Everything Is Awesome", it will of course be gold.
