ORLANDO, Fla. – A tropical wave in the Atlantic now has much less chance of becoming a named storm.

The National Hurricane Center said on Tuesday that the system had a 30 percent chance of developing in the tropics over the next five days, up from 90 percent a day earlier.

"The activity of showers and thunderstorms associated with the tropical wave, which is moving in the Leeward Islands, has continued to be less organized," said News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges. "The conditions should not become significantly better for development ".

The next named storm will be called Patty.

The hurricane season officially ends at the end of November.

Forecasts for the Orlando area

Central Florida will see another hot day on Tuesday, but a significant cooldown is on the way.

Orlando will see a maximum of 88, with a 50 percent rain cover.

The lowest of the night will be near 70.

Wednesday's high will be 83, with chances of rain 60%.

Chance of rain will be 40% Thursday, with a maximum of 78.

The low evenings early Friday will be plunged into the 40s.

The summits will be near 70 Saturday and 77 Sunday, with minimums in the middle of fifties.
