The tropics heat up with newly formed Kirk and another depression

The tropics are warming up again with four different areas of interest in the Atlantic.

TROPICAL STORM KIRK:

We have another named storm in the Atlantic, updated Saturday morning. Kirk is just off the African coast and is expected to maintain his tropical storm status by continuing to move west. He is expected to reach the Leeward Islands and the Windward Islands next Thursday.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION ELEVEN:

Eleven is weakened and lies about 485 miles east of the Windward Islands. It is expected to decrease in the next 48 hours.

INVEST 98-L:

Invest 98-L is a low pressure zone located 200 miles south of Bermuda. It has a 40% chance of tropical development in the next 3 to 5 days as it will move gradually to the southeastern coast of the United States. The conditions will become unfavorable for further development as it gets closer to the coast, but it will continue to be monitored.

INVEST 90-L:

This system is located in the central Atlantic and will likely become a named storm as it winds through the ocean. There is a 70% chance of development over the next 3 to 5 days. It is not expected to impact the United States.

The hurricane season runs until November 30th.
