The Twitter ban of conservative expert Jesse Kelly on Twitter causes a scandal: "New low"

Jesse Kelly, a veteran of the Iraq war and former GOP congressional candidate, was banned from Twitter for unspecified reasons, eliciting indignation from conservatives.

Kelly, a former sailor who failed twice in his attempts for the Arizona Congress in 2010 and 2012, is currently hosting a talk radio show in Houston. It's hard to know which of his recent tweets motivated the ban.

According to Twitter's "wide range of application options" page, Twitter should have given Kelly an explanation of the policy he could have violated.

"When we suspend an account permanently, we inform people of their suspension and explain the policy (s) violated (s) and the content of it violated," according to Twitter.

The rejection of the ban was swift and many conservatives asked Twitter for explanations.

Kelly, 37, had predicted, in August, that he would eventually be banned from Twitter.

"They just knew [Alex] Jones was the weak member of the flock. They could choose it as a test, "writes Kelly in The Federalist. "Then they come for you."

The ban comes four days after the far-right activist Laura Loomer was banned from Twitter after criticizing elected representative Ilhan Omar (D-Min.), One of the first elected Muslim women in Congress.

The Hill has contacted Twitter for comments.
