The UCLA Bruins top the USC 34-27, as the Trojans fall continues

AP RECAP: Joshua Kelley racked up 289 yards in 40 races and scored two touchdowns to lead UCLA ahead of USC 34-27 on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.

The junior rushed for the third highest number of yards in school history and the largest number by a Bruins back against the Trojans. Gaston Green had the previous mark with 224 yards in 39 races in 1986.

Kelley's 55-yard touchdown on the left side of the goal, with 10:39 remaining, gave the Bruins a 28-27 lead. JJ Molson then added a pair of goals to extend the margin for UCLA (3-8, 3-5 Pac-12).

USC (5-6, 4-5) mounted a final drive and made it to UCLA 29, but JT Daniels' fourth downhill pass was incomplete 32 seconds from the end.

Wilton Speight completed 13 of 22 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown. He also ran to get a score while UCLA broke a series of three consecutive losses against his rival.

Daniels had 337 yards and two touchdowns, completing 20 of 34 passes while Michael Pittman Jr. had 106 yards in seven receptions. The Trojans were 4-2 in the middle of the season but lost four of their last five.
