WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The US state department intends to impose more sanctions on Russia for failing to meet the requirements of an international law on chemical weapons after the war. Nerve agent attacked a former Russian spy in Britain in March, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
"Today, the Department informed Congress that we could not certify that the Russian Federation fulfilled the requirements of the 1991 Law on the Control of Chemical and Biological Weapons and the Elimination of War. said spokeswoman Heather Nauert.
"We intend to proceed in accordance with the terms of CBW, which governs the implementation of additional sanctions," she said.
