ROME – The Vatican said it would soon react with clarifications on the accusations Pope Francis concealed sexual misconduct on the part of a favorite American cardinal – claims that provoked the biggest scandal of the current pontificate.
The Consultative Council of the Pope's Cardinals on Monday expressed "total solidarity with Pope Francis over what has happened in recent weeks, knowing that in the current debate the Holy See is about to formulate required."
