The Minnesota Vikings kicked off after only two weeks. The rookie is out. A veteran should be brought.
The Vikings gave up Daniel Carlson on Monday, reported Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Dan Bailey should be signed, added Ian Rapoport, a member of the NFL network.
Carlson played two games in Minnesota after defeating Kai Forbath at training camp.
The fifth-round pick missed three field goals in Sunday's draw against the Green Bay Packers, including two potential overtime winners. The second OT missile was a mere 35 meters.

After Carlson missed two field goals in his third preseason game, Mike Zimmer admitted he was worried about his young kicker. Sunday's defeats in a match that the Vikings could have stolen from a rival of the division on the road, sealed the fate of Carlson.
In the place of the rookies, the Vikings will bring the second most accurate kicker in NFL history.
Bailey was cut before the season by the Dallas Cowboys, the franchise with which he had spent seven seasons. The veteran would have refused several offers while waiting for the right place to land. He found it in Minnesota.
Bailey's 88.2 year career career ranks him second in NFL history, behind Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens. The 30-year-old kicker had a groin injury last season that forced him to miss four games. Bailey finished the season with a 75% career attack rate and missed two more points in his career in 278 attempts.
Assuming that Bailey returns to his reliable means, the Vikings have just updated another position in an already busy team.
