Thieves hit Apple's Emeryville store, marking the latest high-end flight in the Bay Area

In what has become a common – and frightening – trend across the Bay Area in recent weeks, thieves are dragging products from the shelves and tables of Apple stores across the region during big strikes in broad daylight.

The last flight took place Tuesday afternoon at the Apple store in Emeryville, police said. A group of about six to eight people invaded the store and caught an unknown number of Apple products before leaving the premises.

Tuesday's robbery follows similar crimes recently occurring in Apple Stores located in Bay Area towns such as Santa Rosa, Walnut Creek, Corte Madera and Burlingame.

An investigation into the Emeryville incident is underway, police said.

Tuesday's take-home flight follows recent flights at Apple Stores located in Bay Area towns such as Santa Rosa, Walnut Creek, Corte Madera and Burlingame.

The last flight to Emeryville took place around 12:23, according to the police. A group of about six to eight people invaded the store and caught an undisclosed amount of Apple products before taking off.

An investigation into the incident is underway, the police said.
