Every year, in October, events were held across the country to honor those who died and those who survived the disease.
From your 5 km to your spa days, here are some events to pay tribute to those affected by breast cancer in the Atlanta subway:
Walking against breast cancer at SunTrust Park
Stroll for a cause at the 20th edition of Atlanta's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at SunTrust Park. The event, hosted by the American Cancer Society, is an uncompetitive two-mile walk held from 7 am to noon on October 7th. This walk is one of the country's 200 organizers to raise breast cancer month awareness. Participants can register here. Spirit Girls' Night Out Downtown Cobb

The free two-hour event includes a fashion show, health screenings and interactive wellness booths. Guests are encouraged to dress in pink to support breast cancer awareness. "Uniting DeKalb for treatment" 5K Walk / Run
Now in its third year, DeKalb County is organizing its one-kilometer "Uniting DeKalb for a Cure" walk / run, which will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 on October 20 at the Northlake Mall. The event will also include a children's area and a health fair. The county hopes to provide 80 mammograms to uninsured women. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen, who will direct these resources to DeKalb initiatives.
Save a Breast Karaoke Fest
Prepare these pipes. Beyond the Ribbon, Inc. is organizing "Save a Breast Karaoke Fest" at 6pm. October 12 at Olde Town Lawrenceville.
