Every year, in October, events were held across the country to honor those who died and those who survived the disease.

Walking against breast cancer at SunTrust Park
Stroll for a cause at the 20th edition of Atlanta's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at SunTrust Park. The event, hosted by the American Cancer Society, is an uncompetitive two-mile walk held from 7 am to noon on October 7th. "Uniting DeKalb for treatment" 5K Walk / Run
Now in its third year, DeKalb County is organizing its one-kilometer "Uniting DeKalb for a Cure" walk / run, which will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 on October 20 at the Northlake Mall. The event will also include a children's area and a health fair. The county hopes to provide 80 mammograms to uninsured women. All proceeds go to Susan G. Komen, who will direct these resources to DeKalb initiatives.
Save a Breast Karaoke Fest
