The season 3 premiere of NBC's "This Is Us" far exceeded Tuesday night's ratings in the main demo, but still recorded double-digit declines since the premiere of last season.

Broadcasted on average at 9 pm, the "This Is Us" rating was 2.9 among adults aged 18 to 49 and 10.3 million viewers. This figure is down about 26% in the main demonstration and 20% in the total number of viewers compared to the first season, which attracted 3.9 and 12.9 million viewers last September. Still, "This Is Us", built from "The Voice" (score of 2.1, 9.8 million), was tied with its Live + Same Day average in Season 2.

Immediately after "This Is Us", NBC launched the medical drama series "New Amsterdam", which opened with a rating of 1.9 and 8.4 million viewers. That's a 58% increase over the NBC demo average in last season's period and this is NBC's second major launch this week after "Manifest" on Monday.

CBS launched Tuesday evening the procedural "FBI" of Dick Wolf. This program received a rating of 1.3 and 10.1 million viewers, retaining the vast majority of its participation in the first demonstration of the first season of "NCIS" (1.4, 12.4 million), lightly down from last season. After "FBI", the premiere of "NCIS: New Orleans" drew 1.0 million and 8.9 million viewers, even with its debut last season.

On Fox, the season premiere of "The Gifted" (0.9, 2.63 million) saw a 39% drop in the demo and 46% in the total number of viewers, while the premiere of "The Gifted" Lethal Weapon "(0.8, 3.5 million) 32% in the demo and 21% in the total viewers.

For ABC, "Dancing With the Stars" (0.9, 6.5 million) marked the pace of its first season last week. An episode of "20/20" drew a number of viewers from 0.5 and 2.7 million to 10.

The CW aired a rehearsal of "The Flash," followed by a new episode of "The Outpost" (0.2, 0.6 million).

NBC again won the night in the demo with a score of 2.3, but finished second with 9.5 million viewers. CBS was second in the demo with a 1.3 but the first in the viewers with 10.5 million. Fox was third in the show with 0.9 but fourth in the viewers with 3 million. ABC was fourth in the demo with a 0.7 but third in viewers with 5.2 million. The average was 0.2 and 600 000 viewers.
