NASA engineers are among the most imaginative and intelligent people in the universe. Thus, when they challenge themselves in a pumpkin carving contest, the sky is the limit in terms of creativity, humor and pure genius.
Over the last seven years, the brains of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, have organized an "unofficial" pumpkin carving competition with strict rules: they have an hour to run their designs and are not not allowed to sculpt, plan or compete Hours of work.
"They do everything at their own pace," said NASA's mechanical engineer Mike Meacham. "They go home, use their own resources, plan and all we give them is a pumpkin."
