It could be argued that James Wan has already made a movie of superheroes because he directed the film of 2015 Furious 7but Aquaman, its first official cartoon blockbuster, is expected to arrive next month. The embargo on social media has officially been lifted. So, take a look at what critics say – including Peter Sciretta from the movie – about the latest Warner Bros./DC offer below.
Aquaman Reviews
After questionable trailers and a mixed response from San Diego Comic-Con, the jury went on about Aquaman. Would have Jason MomoaCan the water-logged hero lead his own adventure? It turns out that the answer is a resounding "yes" because the brief Aquaman the reviews that have been published on the internet so far are extremely positive.
Here is the reaction of our own Peter Sciretta:
The battle of the third act that is not devolved to the trap of the typical comic book blah is surprisingly ambitious. Many of the things I did not like can probably be attributed to decisions made by Snyder and inherited from Wan (casting, chemistry between Heard / Mamoa, etc.).
– Peter Sciretta (@slashfilm) November 26, 2018
Peter's reaction is pretty measured and the only other tweets I saw that even negatively suggested the negativity were Meg Downey's …
#Aquaman is a buckwild movie that is honestly both good and bad in (almost) equal measure. If nothing else, it looks awesome and we are absolutely not afraid to go there, which I like very much.
– Meg Downey (@ustypolished) November 26, 2018
… and that of Brandon Davis (who also called the film "awesome", so his problems were clearly not enough to spoil the experience):
There were times when I felt #Aquaman It may be a bit long, but he has SO to prepare to create his own isolated world.
Huge, epic, unique and elegant action sequences balance heavy exposure.
The film is not out yet but I want more Wan, Momoa, & co.

The rest of the internet seems to have had a really great time with this one. Here is a fun game: count the number of times the critics refer to the movie, or use a variation of the phrase "an absolute blast". Spoiler alert: this happens often!
Aquaman is a big fun ride. It is undoubtedly melodramatic and bursting with the broadest and most ambitious meaning imaginable. Some parts are pretty bad, but they are not in the majority and, curiously, they always fit in the cartoony's tone. 2nd best DCU movie. YEEEAAHH! pic.twitter.com/3GLlK3uQJ3

#Aquaman is the best DC movie since The Dark Knight.@creepypuppet delivers an epic of politeness full of thrills, stunning underwater graphics, exciting action and lots of laughs.
WB should entrust the reins of the DCEU to James Wan, he proved that he could do it, huh, aboard the ship. pic.twitter.com/4hjxdmNLDf

Organize a big win in the wet for DC. @creepypuppetof the #Aquaman is an epic adventure, swinging for the fence that plunges the fans into incredibly creative worlds. Goofy in places, but it's funny. See on the biggest screen possible! pic.twitter.com/ahODJ4mJAI

#Aquaman it's great. James Wan has made a truly unique film about the origins of superheroes, often crossing fantastic and epic territories, but relying on family and discovery.
The world is visually incredible. Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry is totally nil. @yahya and @ patrickwilson73 out! pic.twitter.com/2IvDCEq7VU

#Aquaman is good! It's certainly more than the sum of its parts. It is full of ridiculous elements, but it's so many bonkers that you should be completely overjoyed not to be trapped. pic.twitter.com/VV5PMGT9er

#Aquaman It's the most ambitious DC movie to date – a great, sprawling, beautiful, crazy, action-packed visual show that's a lot of fun to watch. James Wan, in my opinion, is the true star: he raises the matter, makes it entertaining and conquers it. pic.twitter.com/gDFjiAWICA

#Aquaman is too much fun! A perfect balance between humor and action. James Wan shows his talents as a director and marks his DC imprint. Momoa is perfectly charming and brings out Aquaman from the shade to meet the great #Wonder Woman @aquamanmovie pic.twitter.com/ySM7Tn8nkl

#Aquaman is like a cartoon from the 80s, with all the fun and the problems that come with it. A good adventure film that recognizes exactly what it is from the beginning, which is a meal almost entirely made of ham.

AQUAMAN is crazy! Ambitious, camper and so much fun. James Wan embraces the source material by creating a unique story about the origin of superheroes that stands out in a sea of other superhero movies. It is an implacable visual spectacle that knows what it is and does not hold back. #AQUAMAN pic.twitter.com/RyS1b3ioiE

Aquaman is a breathtaking, strange, daring, fun idea of a modern superhero fantasy (anime) and makes no excuses. The second half rejoices / laughs after each other.
Imagine Schwarzenegger from the 80s in Hideo Kojima's "AVATAR" and you're almost there. #Aquaman pic.twitter.com/nmZYjcUm5q

#AQUAMAN is an absolute breath! James Wan creates an exciting story and makes a dignified entry into the DCEU
Full of show and showcased by the creatures of the abyss, Wan creates an engaging adventure. The heart / emotion of the film resonated the most, amplified by strong casting performances pic.twitter.com/GVj7tnO51o

#Aquaman is pretty wild. It inspires much more of its 80s fantasy / adventure movie mood than superhero elements, and it works. This is another step in the right direction for the CESD and shows how the tones of these films can be different / distinct while staying together.

#Aquaman is an epic fantasy adventure on the high seas! It's a thrilling action scene in a dazzling underwater world like I've never seen in superhero movies or anywhere else. I had a great time watching this movie and you too. See on the biggest screen you can! pic.twitter.com/uRWXDTE48K

#Aquaman It was an absolute explosion, from Momoa's Arthur Curry charm, to the spectacular graphics and fun it was clear everyone had. It was exactly what I hoped for and I can not wait to see it again! I will give you more details when I have the right! pic.twitter.com/FyeczAJJIJ

#Aquaman is Avatar meets Jupiter Ascending, with hints of Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones and a triple AAA video game. There is also an octopus playing drums. I liked it. ??

Excited, I can now say how much I enjoyed #Aquaman! It's a great adventure built on action sequences and extraordinary sets, with a superhero / Jason Momoa's performance. There is some fun world to build, and it is beautiful. A big step for the DCEU. pic.twitter.com/Z5iPdilMIR

#Aquaman is certainly another success of Warner Bros. A visual appeal, excellent special effects and breathtaking fight scenes. All mixed in a supreme performance of Nicole Kidman in the role of Queen Atlanna.

Short and sweet reaction to #Aquaman did I like it? It is a comic strip movie that offers great action, iconic moments and a visual spectacle to spare. Momoa creates the character and Wan respects the traditional aspects, but the student in the modern era. It's awesome.

#Aquaman is awesome and absolutely offers! Not only @prideofgyypsies the king of Atlantis, but also the new king of the DCEU! ?? I can not wait to see him again! pic.twitter.com/boVAKdcNIA

Julie Andrews plays a giant kraken #Aquaman and if it's not the best support I can give to this movie, then I do not know what it is. pic.twitter.com/33ucO34cV0

If "a little long" and "sagoutin" are the worst descriptions so far, I feel that I will love this film. way more than I thought. Things seemed hopelessly creative for the CSE as a result of movies like Suicide team and Justice Leaguebut it seems that Aquaman joins Wonder Woman like the rare DC film that critics and fans will appreciate.
Here is the official summary of the film:
Director James Wan from Warner Bros. Pictures tells an adventure full of activities that encompasses the breathtaking underwater world of the Seven Seas, "Aquaman" starring Jason Momoa in the lead role. The film reveals the original story of Arthur Curry's half-human, half-Atlantean and leads him into the journey of his life – a story that will force him not only to deal with who he is really, but also to discover if he is worthy of who he is. was born to be … a king.
Aquaman is led by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Patrick Wilson, and Nicole Kidman. He splashes in the theaters December 21, 2018.
