Thomas Ravenel, a Southern Charm star, was arrested in South Carolina on Tuesday and charged with second degree assault and indictment following a 2015 sexual assault investigation.
Mr. Ravenel, 56, was jailed in Charleston County Jail just after 10 am and is being held without bail, according to Charleston County Sheriff's Office Prison Records.
The arrest was linked to the alleged assault of a 43-year-old woman, Charleston police told Fox News. The woman had already introduced herself to People magazine as "Dawn", a former nanny to Ravenel's children. She told the magazine that she had filed the police report.
According to an incident report, authorities began investigating the Bravo TV star in May, after the woman claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Ravenel in January 2015.

The allegations stem from an incident that allegedly occurred while the woman was employed as a nanny, according to the Charleston Police Department Ravenel's affidavit of arrest.

Before trying to undress the woman, Ravenel took her hand "and placed it on his penis," the affidavit said.
"In attempting to remove the victim's clothing, the victim's underwire bra cut off her skin and her shirt wrapped around her neck, forcing the victim to breathe," he said. l & # 39; affadavit.

The woman eventually fled and told "several members of her family", including her ex-husband and sister, about the alleged incident, the affidavit said.
"Photographs were then immediately taken of wounds to the neck and chest," said the affidavit, adding that the detectives had obtained the images "timestamped appropriately with reference to the incident".
A second woman came forward earlier this year accusing Ravenel of sexual assault.
Model Ashley Perkins told Fox News that her mother, Debbie Holloway Perkins, had met Ravenel about Tinder in October 2015. She said that after a few months of discussion, Ravenel had asked Debbie a date of last minute on December 25th.

Haymaker, the production company behind the Bravo series, said it had opened an investigation into complaints against Ravenel.
Ravenel's lawyer had previously denied the allegations in a statement to People.
"My client enjoys a certain reputation, which unfortunately makes it a vulnerable target for such claims," Ravenel's lawyer Richard P. Terbrusch said in a statement. "The person described by this woman is just not the man I know. My client is a loving father, a successful business man and a right member of the community. He is appalled and hurt by these allegations – and is committed to defending his reputation in the appropriate court. "
Ravenel announced in August that he was leaving "Southern Charm" because show producers "took advantage". Bravo also confirmed Tuesday on page six that Ravenel would not return in the series.
