HARRISBURG, Dauphin County, PA – Thousands of people marched Saturday to raise awareness of breast cancer in Dauphin County.

The American Cancer Society has organized its 21st annual Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on City Island.

Thousands of people have worn pink clothes to pay tribute to breast cancer survivors.

Their message to those who fight against cancer: you are not alone.

"The three scariest words can be" you have cancer ", but I can tell you myself when I heard these three words, I felt so lonely, but as soon as I got it I discovered Making Strides Against Breast Cancer alone, "said Kathy Myers, president of advertising for Making Progress Against Breast Cancer. "I've been wrapped up in help, love and community, and events like this prove that you're not alone." There are family members here, there are friends, there are neighbors, we will not find that sense of community and love anywhere else, I guarantee it. "

The event includes a brass band, dance and a food truck.

All funds raised are going to research to find a cure.
