Three accused in the assassination of Phil Trenary

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Three people have been charged with first degree murder because of the shooting death of corporate executive Phil Trenary, the Memphis police department said shortly before midnight.

McKinny Wright Jr., 22, 18-year-old Quandarius Richardson, and a 16-year-old boy were charged with first degree murder because of an attempted robbery and attempted robbery.

Quandarius Richardson was one of two people arrested after a high-speed race and wreck in South Memphis on Friday. The truck involved in this wreck had been seen fleeing the murder scene the night before.

Richardson was being held on $ 500,000 bail as a result of several charges, including escaping the police. He faces a judge on Monday.

Trenary, President and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, was shot dead Thursday on Front Street, near his home in downtown, as he headed for an event sponsored by the bedroom. Previously, he was CEO of Pinnacle Airlines and was a tireless supporter of Memphis.
