Three new species of fish discovered in the extreme depths of the Atacama trench

The snails found in the Atacama trench are not as intrepid, but have been caught feeding and floating at about 7,500 m (24,000 ft) below the surface. While the idea of deep-sea animals might conjure up images of nightmarish creatures with sharp teeth and death in the eyes, snail fish are a small indefinable species without scales. However, they seem to evolve perfectly to live at such depths.
