Three people arrested after killing a couple of millionaires in Thailand

Three men were arrested in northern Thailand following the murder of a wealthy British couple.

Alan Hogg, 64, and Nod Suddaen, 61, disappeared from their home in Phrae Province last week. The two men lived in a luxurious three-story house built by Hogg, who made a fortune with his Scottish-based dry cleaning business, Clayfull, and a few other companies.

The disappearance of the couple caught the attention of the police when friends of Hogg and Suddaen agreed to meet the couple in the nearby town of Chiang Mai, but waited in vain.

"We arrested three men who confessed," said General Sanpat Prabpudsa, a police officer, according to which The Guardian. The trio admitted to killing the couple at their home and ensuring that the bodies had been eliminated by burying them away from the property.

During the first search, the police found traces of blood in the washbasin and the poolside change area, as well as signs that soiled surfaces had been cleared. The police found no other trace of the two victims, but their suspicions that the couple had left against their will were confirmed after they found Suddaen's cell phone, which had been left with its owner without being in sight. .

The three detained suspects claimed to have shot Hogg in front of the quill and attacked his wife, hitting her with a hammer. According to their testimony, Hogg's brother-in-law, Warut Satchakit, was complicit in the killings, suggesting that the tragedy was related to a family conflict.

"The brother-in-law had money problems and there were family problems," said Prabpudsa. The three men accused of murdering the couple said that the woman's brother was the one who took the bodies and buried them, although the alleged perpetrators know where the couple's remains were. "We know where they are buried; I think we can find the bodies today, "added Prabpudsa.

Satchakit has already disappeared after his movements aroused the suspicions of the police before the confession of the three men. The authorities arrested him on Monday after discovering footage of CCTV that saw him enter the house of the murdered couple on Thursday morning and then take him to his car. Officers released him on bail and he has not been seen since.

The couple's daughter left the UK to participate in the investigation.
